From the time I was very young to the present, the two interests that have always been passions of mine were music and making something with wood. I remember my mother telling me that before the age of five, I was always happiest when I was making music; usually it was singing. As a high school student, the two most important subjects to me were shop and violin class and my hobby became woodcarving. In college I started as a music major, but changed and received a degree in Human Relations. Eventually I returned to college to study music, and taught orchestra for twenty seven years. Now since retiring as a public school string teacher, everything has come full circle. I now make and play violins and nothing has ever been more satisfying or rewarding. I am a blessed man to be able to enjoy making the instrument that creates the music that I love.
